Honoured Artist of the RSFSR. People’s Artist of Russia. In 1997, Kim Britov was awarded with the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. He is the Laureate of the Levitan Prize. One of the founders of the Vladimir landscape school. In 1948 he left Mstiora Art School. Britov was a student of R.M. Chesnokov, K.I. Mozin, N.P. Sychev. First exhibited in 1954. Since 1957 he participated in all-union art exhibitions in Moscow. In 1954 he joined the Artists Union of the USSR. K.N. Britov had his first one-man show in 1975. The artist’s works are regularly shown at exhibitions in the Czech Republic, Finland, CPDR, France, and other countries. During the 55 years of his artistic career, he participated in 220 exhibitions in our country and abroad. The artist’s works are in the Tretyakov State Gallery, the State Russian Museum, Vladimir and Suzdal Museum Reserve of History, Architecture, and Art, in many regional museums in Russia, in the Iston Academy of Arts (USA), Kim Il Sumg Museum (CPDR), New Munich Gallery (Germany), as well as in the numerous public and private collections in Europe, Asia, North and Latin America.
