Сафонов Вениамин Алексеевич
Veniamin Safonov was born 1931 in the small village Red Dawn of Orlov region in southern Russia. In 1951 he graduated from the well-established and reputable Artistic College of Orel. Then Safonov relocated to the small city of Podolsk near Moscow. This is where he became enamored with the beauty of the Russian landscape.
Since 1958 he was member of Union Artist of Russia.
He was friend with his painter colleague Yuri Matushevski who lieved in Podolsk, too. They influenced each other in their paintings. Both they had also close contact to the painters from Vladimir School as Kim Britov and Vladimir Yukin.
In many years he visited the Akademdacha near Vishni Volochyok in the Tver region where he often worked together with the brothers Aleksei and Sergei Tkachev.
Veniamin Safonov has taken part in the art exhibitions since 1953. He worked in landscape and still-life genre.
The works of the painter are represented in the art museums of the Russian cities: Podolsk, Tver, Ryazan and Tula.
