In the1970s Barchenkov' s still-life motifs were formed: guelder rose fruit on the table in the corner of the garden covered with snow, ripe apples among fallen leaves, splendid bouquets of camomiles and strawberries. They are famous and frequently imitated.
In 1972 N. Barchenkov was awarded the golden medal of the Italian Academy of Arts and the awarding to him of a title of its Honorable Member is evidence of the International acknowledgement of his talent. The pictures of the artist are located in the State Tretyakov Gallery, in a number of art museums in Russia, in the private collections abroad: in Japan, Italy, France, Spain, Finland, Germany.
