After graduating from the Moscow Secondary Art School Elena Tkacheva entered the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute and studied there under D. Mochalski from 1977 to 1983. From 1984 to 1987 she worked at the A. Tkachev and S. Tkachev Painting Studio of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. In 1985 she joined the Artists’ Union.
Elena Tkacheva regularly participates in exhibitions at the municipal, national and international levels since 1983. Tkachevas's works were shown at the “For your Name” – the 2000 Years of Christianity All-Russian exhibition (2000), the 70th Anniversary of the Moscow Artists’ Union Jubilee Exhibition (2002) and the 60th Anniversary of the Victory exhibition in the Central House of Artists (2005).
Most of the time Elena Tkacheva works in Tver region painting genre pictures, landscapes and portraits of her countrymen.
